Your e-Business Card on a QR code

There are two codes, carrying two different things. Card link holds the complete card — every character of it — so it grows denser as you type: more text, more squares in the same space. That is what the meter under the fields is telling you; on a screen a dense code still scans, on a business card printed at 2 cm it may not. Cyrillic and emoji cost about twice what Latin letters do. The trade is that this code is self-contained: printed once, it works forever, even offline.

Instant contact carries your contact details for the camera, with a short link to the animated card tucked inside — which is why its squares are visibly larger and it scans from further away. The little photo (or initials) in the middle of both codes sits inside the code's built-in error tolerance, so it costs nothing to scan.

On your own card: Card link / Instant contact switches what the QR shows — a link to the animated card, or a contact the camera saves directly. Share link puts your short card link on the phone's share sheet; on a computer the same button is Copy link and puts it straight on the clipboard — either way it sends nothing by itself and posts nowhere. Save vCard downloads your own contact file; it goes to your device only. Edit opens the card back in the Lab; New card starts a fresh one. Nothing here creates an account or notifies anyone.

On a card someone sent you: Add to Contacts hands your phone the contact file — your phone's own screen does the saving, we never see it happen. Add & Share back does the same and then helps you send a card of your own in return. Phone opens your dialler with the number filled in — it does not place the call. Email opens your mail app with the address. WhatsApp and Viber open a chat with that number in the app — nothing is sent until you write it; they appear only if the owner uses them. Website and the social buttons open the owner's site or profile in a new tab. Address opens the address in your maps app. And on a card you already saved, one Share passes the link on — nothing more.

No. My e-Cards Gallery lives in this browser, on this device, and it is not sent anywhere — which is the point, but it does mean a cleared browser takes the gallery with it. Export writes all of them to one file; Import reads it back on the other device. Your individual card links keep working everywhere regardless.
